How to Make this Crocheted Blanket Wrap for your Fall Wardrobe
Hello my maker friend! It is perfect weather for a good old crocheted blanket wrap. I am so excited to share with you today the written pattern for the Natu Blanket Wrap! This is the first blanket wrap I ever made and have been on a mission to make one every year.

About this oversized crochet scarf
I made this scarf years ago and is actually a very special scarf for me. This oversized scarf began during the times where I cared for my grandmother before she lost her battle to ALS. I remember always hauling my bag to her bedside and her watching me crochet along.
This blanket wrap is a kit on Lion Brand Yarn however, the release of it was much later than expected because I took an extensive break from this design when my grandmother passed. When I finished it, I asked my followers what they thought was an appropriate name. Many of them mentioned Tutu for grandmother. In Hawaii we would often call our elderly “nana”, and it is what the staff in my grandmother’s nursing home called her. Hence why I chose to call this design the “Natu” Blanket Wrap.
Construction of this crocheted blanket wrap
This was the very first design that I made while experimenting with different patterns, textured stitches, and colorwork all in one.
The crocheted blanket wrap is made as a long rectangle so making it a great design for beginner crocheters to try their hand at colorwork and textured stitches. Remember, this was one of my first designs ever so I truly believe it is beginner friendly.

Yarn
For this crocheted blanket wrap I used – my favourite – Lion Brand Yarn’s Heartland. This is the design that made me fall in love with Heartland!
Heartland is my ultimate favorite line of yarn from Lion Brand Yarn. I really love the color pallet from Heartland and the amount of yardage. This is a great sweater yarn at a the best price point on this list. The yarn is soft and works up beautifully. It is an acrylic yarn and has a fuzzy halo to which adds to its warmth making it an excellent choice for a winter sweater.
Modern Crocheted Blanket Wrap Pattern – Natu Blanket Wrap

Pattern notes:
- Special stitches and techniques for changing yarn and different stitches are available at the end of the pattern. Pictures at this section are made using different yarn and hook size to better contrast and show stitches
- Alternating colors differ in technique for right and wrong side of the wrap, refer to stitch explanations
Materials:
- 4.0mm crochet hook
- CYC 4 weight yarn in 3 colours. I used Lion Brand Yarn Heartland in (A. Mammoth – 4 balls, B. Grand Canyon – 3 balls, and Katmai – 1 ball)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle to weave in ends
Gauge – Do not forget to make your gauge!
4”x4” = 17 st x 10 rows using vertical stripes (alternating colors R16-R25)
